Welcome To Friends of Gethsemane!

Hurricane Katrina may have created significant loss of life and property damage...but not loss of hope. Let's help members and friends of Gethsemane rebuild their lives.

A Letter from The Founder

Dear Friends:

On August 29, 2005 Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans causing the most significant devastation in the U.S. since the Great Earthquake of San Francisco in 1906. Residents of New Orleans and surrounding areas were forced to endure significant hardship.

The Gethsemane Church of God In Christ was built and established by Bishop Earl LeViege Sr. with the help of his wife Sister Almeta LeViege and some of the founding members, amongst them, Deacon Arthur Triche, Sr and Mother Beatrice Triche...my deceased parents.

In their memory, this fund is established to help selected families and friends of Gethsemane who have suffered from the massive devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina. Additionally, while the church can no longer serve as a meeting place, this site has also been created, to allow members, friends and neighbors to connect and find one another.

To current and future contributors, "Friends Of Gethsemane", thanks you for any and all assistance that you are able to provide. Nothing is too small in this time of extraordinary need and human suffering.
